Over 340 guests in attendance enjoyed to a five-course dinner at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel, where three hundred silent auction items, two mini-live auctions, and an impressive live auction with performances by magician Philemon Vanderbeck took place. The guest list included celebrity Jean Smart, star of Fox TV's "24," and new anchors Brad Goode and Joyce Taylor of King 5, who emceed the event. The evening honored Mark and Eileen Wesley and Starbucks Coffee Company, both of whom have been very generous supporters of the Alzheimer's Association's programs and services. Guests also enjoyed performances by Andrea Alhadeff, Denney Goodhew, magicians Master Payne and Fredrick Turner (PDF), Soul Kata and Collin Sedlacek. World renowned auctioneers Dick and Sharon Friel led the live auction event.

The Alzheimer's Association, Western and Central Washington State Chapter provides support groups, a 24-hour help line, services for the Latino and African American communities, training and education for caregivers and healthcare professionals, all at no cost to individuals in the 23 counties that it serves. The Chapter is also proud to support several research projects at the local level. A portion of the money raised during the event's popular 'fund-an-item' portion will go to support local research conducted by Saman Jayadev, M.D. of the University of Washington. Her research will focus on the role of presenilins in brain inflammation and in the death of nerve cells.
